torso

after putting shoulders on, i decided what i wanted the arm space to look like
so i cut a hole in each side!
i then cut out a similar shape, let it dry and harden a bit..
 and then attached it.
so...this is what it looks like!
after that i needed to do the shoulder/neck area, so i had to create a support for it
i then put the neck on, along with some shoulder muscles!
as you can see, this is just very rough, but then i go back into it and fix it how i like
 the process of fixing it..
completed!  i am pretty sure i am not going to put a head on, i just like how it looks without one i think it will look too heavy with a head on top
so now i just have to figure out an interesting way to finish off the neck to make it complete! and then i put it in the kiln!
back view ( as you can see i pay a little less attention to the back )

ceramics project 1

the first project for ceramics was to make a form, and then make a mold for it, then make duplicates, as many as we want to make a final piece.
so this is the shape that came out of the mold, and i can alter it in any way i like
so... as per usual i decided to do faces, but this time they would not be beautiful ones!
i didnt use any references for these, and had no idea what i wanted to do when i started each one...just kinda went with the flow.  they all ended up looking very creepy.

when they were finished and half dried, i put a back onto them and left a hole so i can hang them on the wall
this is what they will look like hanging on the wall.  well they will have colours on them but that wont be for another couple of weeks
when each one i made got half dry i would then go back in and carve in details and add things
